2025/2/28 (Fri.) Peace Memorial Day

 

Peace Memorial Day, also known as the February 28 Peace Memorial Day, is one of the national memorial days of the Republic of China. It commemorates the February 28 Incident that occurred in Taiwan on February 28, 1947. It was enacted as a memorial day in 1995 and became a national holiday of the Republic of China in 1997. It was the first statutory national holiday in the Republic of China and promoted the implementation of a two-day weekend in Taiwan. Later, there was a proposal to amend the law to restore the system to no holiday.
