JUST’s Volunteer Chef Team Serves Up a Meal: Youth and Elders Swap Cooking Tips. (October 9, in 2026.)

On October 8, in 2026, a volunteer chef team comprising faculty and students from JUST’s Culinary Arts Club and Daruan Club visited the Zhongzhi Tribe in Wulai District, at New Taipei City, to host a "Youth-Elder Co-learning and Dining" event. Integrating interdisciplinary expertise, the event featured a hands-on pipe-cleaner wreath-making activity to help seniors improve their hand-eye coordination, while faculty and students from the Department of Food and Beverage Management prepared healthy, balanced meal boxes for both on-site dining and delivery. Participants also engaged in lively interactions and friendly culinary skill-sharing with the tribal elders. Supported by the Ministry of Education’s Higher Education Sprout Project and a private foundation, the event successfully demonstrated a commitment to social care by bringing young people into the tribal community.
