In recent years, the Department of Visual Communication Design at JUST has demonstrated the formidable strength of its vocational education, prioritizing internationalization and actively enhancing cross-border exchanges and professional competitiveness for both faculty and students.

Faculty and students have achieved outstanding results in competitions:
- International Competitions: Instructor Lin Hong-zhang won one gold, one silver, and four bronze awards at the 5th USA Poster Design Competition; in 2024, faculty and students also garnered numerous accolades at the German Red Dot Design Award, the Busan International Design Award, and the Golden Pin New Design Award.
- Domestic Competitions: The department secured first place in the Fashion Design category at the "2025 National Vocational College Student Practical Project Competition," demonstrating strong ambition in the Visual Design and Fashion Craftsmanship groups.

Furthermore, in addition to establishing industry-academia partnerships with numerous major design and animation companies, the department has launched the "JUST AI R&D Center" to help students master the latest AI-era tools and innovative thinking alongside their creative work.
