Weave the Aroma of Zongzi, Connect the World｜Dragon Boat Festival Culture Experience & International Exchange Event

To help international students gain a deeper understanding of Taiwan’s traditional festivals, our university organized the “Weave the Aroma of Zongzi, Connect the World – Dragon Boat Festival Culture Experience & International Exchange Event.” Local and international students were invited to participate together and experience the charm of Dragon Boat Festival culture through hands-on activities.

Unlike traditional zongzi-making activities, this year’s event focused on woven zongzi craftsmanship, allowing students to learn about Taiwanese folk arts and weaving traditions. Although the weaving process was challenging and required patience and skill, students successfully completed their own woven zongzi creations through the instructor’s guidance and mutual support among classmates.

Throughout the activity, local students enthusiastically shared their techniques and experiences, while international students actively exchanged ideas and discussed the weaving process. Through learning and helping one another, participants not only improved their crafting skills but also strengthened friendships and mutual understanding.

Through this event, students not only learned about the cultural significance of the Dragon Boat Festival and traditional handicrafts, but also built stronger connections through collaboration and cultural exchange. Despite coming from different countries and backgrounds, participants created meaningful cross-cultural memories by working together to complete their woven zongzi masterpieces.
