【De La Salle University (Philippines) Visits JUST(景文科大) for Academic & Cultural Exchange】
On November 28, JUST (JUST)(景文科大) warmly welcomed a delegation from De La Salle University, Philippines, consisting of one faculty member and twenty students, for a half-day academic and cultural exchange. Organized by the Center for International and Cross-Strait Affairs and the Center for Continuing Education, the program offered rich learning content and dynamic interactions, giving students a memorable and rewarding experience at JUST.
The delegation was received by JUST President Dr. Leo Huang (黃榮鵬校長), accompanied by Vice Dean of Academic Affairs Prof. Yang Ming-Hsien(楊明賢), R&D Director and CICS Director Dr. Kao Chung-Lun(高崇倫), Director Chen Li-Ching(陳麗菁), Director Chou Po-Yu(周伯毓), Group Leader Prof. Shang Li-Ling(尚麗琳), and the international affairs team. During the opening session, both institutions exchanged remarks and commemorative gifts, officially commencing the day’s activities.
📘 Morning Learning Highlights
Prof. Shang Li-Ling(尚麗琳) led the first session, “Business in Taiwan,” introducing Taiwanese industry development and business culture. She also shared her personal entrepreneurial journey and showcased handmade creative products, sparking lively interaction with the students.
Following a short break, Prof. Chou Po-Yu(周伯毓) delivered the highly acclaimed session “Artificial Intelligence and Business,” where students learned through case studies and demonstrations how AI is reshaping global business models, gaining deeper appreciation for Taiwan’s technological strengths.
🍱 Lunch Exchange × Certificate Ceremony
Students enjoyed a fusion lunch featuring American-style fried snacks, Taiwanese fried rice, and Taiwan’s iconic bubble tea. The meal provided an engaging setting for cross-cultural conversations.
A certificate ceremony was held afterward, with each student receiving an official certificate of completion.
🏫 Campus Tour: Experiencing JUST’s Professional Learning Environment
In the afternoon, students explored several academic facilities across campus:
🎨 Department of Visual Communication Design: Students visited the metalwork studio and observed competition-level craftsmanship. They were also impressed by Director Yang Wen-Hao’s(楊文灝) 3D-printed design works.
🌿 Campus Walk: The delegation enjoyed JUST’s green landscapes, open spaces, and signature coconut boulevard en route to the hospitality buildings.
✈️ Department of Tourism Management: Students experienced the newly created Emirates A380 onboard bar simulation and sampled the business-class cabin training area.
🍽️ Department of Culinary Arts & Food Service Management: The tour included the culinary demonstration room, baking lab, Chinese and Western cuisine training rooms, smart banquet hall, and wine appreciation classroom—highlighting JUST’s comprehensive hands-on learning system.
Students praised JUST for its modern facilities, diverse curriculum, and strong emphasis on applied learning, expressing admiration for Taiwan’s vocational education philosophy.
✨ A Meaningful Visit, A New Journey Ahead
The five-hour visit allowed De La Salle University students to experience JUST’s international hospitality, professional teaching strengths, and the warmth of Taiwanese culture.
As the delegation departed for their next destination, both institutions expressed strong interest in future collaborations, including exchange programs, short-term study, and dual-degree opportunities.
JUST will continue expanding its international education partnerships and creating a global learning platform where “the world meets JUST, and JUST steps onto the world stage.”
