Rain Water occurs on the 19th or 20th day of the second lunar month in the Chinese calendar, when the sun passes 330 degrees of ecliptic longitude. After the Beginning of Spring, the easterly wind thaws the ice, melting the snow. This is when farmers begin their farming season, eagerly anticipating the arrival of rain. Spring returns to the earth, bringing with it continuous spring rains. The spring breeze, like a warm hand, sweeps away the bleakness of winter and brings the continuous spring rains. Hence the agricultural proverbs: "Cold spring rains bring springs, while cold winter rains disperse," and "Rain beats on the Lantern Festival lanterns, while the sun shines on the days leading up to the Qingming Festival." ...
