January 23 (Friday), in 2026, Freedom Day
The Freedom Day movement commemorates the touching and heroic act of over 14,000 Chinese Communist prisoners of war during the Korean War who renounced the Communist Party and returned to freedom on January 23, in 1954. Recognizing that Taiwan's Freedom Day movement aligns with its spirit of "struggling for human freedom," the World Anti-Communist League, at its Second Congress in 1968, passed a resolution expanding the movement into the "World Freedom Day Movement."
