2025/3/26 (Wed.) Broadcasting Festival

The origin of the Radio Festival comes from the founding father of the Republic of China, Dr. Sun Yat-sen.

Dr. Sun Yat-sen was a great man of China and he made indelible contributions to the Republic of China. Because of this, when he left the world on March 12, 1955, fellow countrymen across the country were deeply saddened. His coffin was placed in Central Park for people to pay their respects.

At that time, the Ministry of Communications' Peking Telephone East Branch also had a radio that played phonographies of Mr. Sun's speeches recorded during his lifetime for the public to listen to. After this incident, the government designated March 26 as Broadcasting Day in 1952 to commemorate the event. Later, as television gradually became more popular, this day was changed to Radio and Television Day in 1970. ...
