[Repost] September 21, in 2026 – National Disaster Prevention Day

The National Disaster Prevention Day drill takes place this morning (September 21). The Central Weather Administration will conduct earthquake and tsunami warning tests between 09:21 and 10:00. All test messages will begin with the label "2026 National Disaster Prevention Day Drill"; actual disaster alerts will not include the word "Drill."

Drill Schedule and Key Response Actions:

09:21 Earthquake Early Warning Test: Sent simultaneously to mobile phones across Taiwan. Please do not panic upon receiving the alert; immediately practice the three earthquake safety steps: "Drop, Cover, and Hold on."
09:30 Tsunami Warning Test: Sent to coastal townships and districts in Taiwan; coastal residents are advised to remain calm.
10:00 Tsunami Warning Cancellation: A cancellation test message will be sent, concluding the full simulation process.
