September 3 (Thu.), in 2026, is Armed Forces Day in the Republic of China, a day to commemorate the victory in the War of Resistance against Japan and to remember the sacrifices and contributions of the National Army. On this day, military personnel have a day off, but it is usually not a national holiday. Various government agencies and businesses (such as the High Speed Rail and Taipei City Government) will, as is customary, offer activities and discounts to honor the military, such as transportation discounts, ticket reductions, and special offers at participating stores, allowing the public to celebrate and pay tribute to the National Army together.
