April 1 (Wed.), in 2026, April Fools' Day
April Fools' Day is celebrated annually on April 1st. It is a folk festival that originated in the West in the 19th century and is not recognized as a legal holiday in any country. On this day, people traditionally deceive, prank, and joke with each other in various ways, and these jokes may later be exposed. However, if the jokes go too far, they can easily cause panic, generate large-scale reactions, and further develop into rumors or urban legends. In the West, some mass media outlets often participate in or even lead some pranks. In fact, throughout history, the custom of spending a day playing harmless pranks on those around us has been quite common around the world.
