March 1 (Sun.), in 2026, is "Military Service Day". This holiday is to commend the hard work of conscription personnel and service members. The Ministry of Military Affairs of the Nationalist Government designated March 1, 1944 as the first Military Service Day. Since then, the central and local governments have held celebration rallies every year, during which those who have made meritorious contributions to the implementation of conscription, exemplary conscription families, and outstanding conscription personnel are commended.
