Christmas Eve, also known as Christmas Eve in Taiwan, is one of the most important festivals in the Christmas season in most Christian societies. Christmas Eve is traditionally the day to decorate the Christmas tree, but as Christmas celebrations begin earlier, for example, in the United States after Thanksgiving, many Christmas trees have been decorated several weeks before Christmas. In the UK, if Christmas Eve falls on a weekday, it is sometimes regarded as a short day by banks and trading companies. The Christmas season of traditional churches begins on Christmas Eve.
