12/31 (Tuesday) Trusteeship Day, We wish everyone a Happy New Year!...
(1) The Trust Day on December 31st is Japan’s “Great Dark Day” (おおみそか), which is New Year’s Eve. This day marks the end of the old year and the beginning of the new year. People usually clean up, prepare New Year's Eve dinner, and participate in various celebration activities, such as watching the red and white song battle, eating Nian Yue しそば (Nian Yue soba), etc.
(2) The Feast of Advent, also known as Advent, is an important festival in Christian tradition. It marks the four weeks leading up to Christmas, usually starting in late November or early December and ending on Christmas Eve. This time is a time of preparation and anticipation for the coming (birth) of Jesus Christ.
During this period, Christians will perform various religious activities, such as lighting four candles on the Advent wreath, each candle representing a week and symbolizing hope, peace, joy and love. It is also a time of reflection and prayer, and many people attend special services and Bible readings to commemorate the birth of Jesus and the promise of the Second Coming.
